It all began in August 1999 when the Nobles’ family – Chad, Ann, Ashley, and Chassity – gathered daily for devotion, Bible study, and prayer in Beaufort. As their passion for worship and fellowship grew, they formed a Tuesday night Bible Study group that met at the Youth Center on Parris Island.
Seeking spiritual guidance and covering, Pastor Chad reached out to Dr. Barbara M. Amos, a highly anointed woman of God in Norfolk, Virginia. On October 29, 1999, Lighthouse Tabernacle of Praise Ministry was officially incorporated as a Church. The ministry joined fellowships with Faith Deliverance Christian Fellowship, a group of Spirit-filled churches led by Dr. Amos, dedicated to improving people’s spiritual life. The first worship service took place on the first Sunday of November at Allen Chapel, with eleven individuals covenanting in membership and mission.
Over time, Lighthouse experienced both spiritual and numerical growth. In the summer of 2000, the church relocated to Ribaut Road. That same year, Pastor Ann was ordained as an Elder by Bishop Amos and served alongside Pastor Chad. During this period, the church fostered a strong core group of committed members and leaders, equipping them for service in the Kingdom.
As years went by, Lighthouse Christian Center continued to grow and evolve while remaining steadfast in its mission and vision. The church placed a strong emphasis on worship, Bible study, and prayer, providing opportunities for spiritual growth and development. They also prioritized community outreach, actively seeking to meet the needs of those around them and shine as a beacon of light in the darkness.
